At Home Baby Photography Session (suitable for newborns and older babies)
Will this type of shoot suit my family?
I make it my job during your At Home Baby Photography Session to capture your baby’s beautiful little features in a relaxed and stress free environment. Older siblings will feel happy in their own environment and can join in on their own terms.
What kind of photos will you take?
A beautiful mix of natural ‘studio’ style shots using a variety of simple, soft blankets and documentary, candid (lifestyle) shots of ‘real life’ moments between you and your baby at home.
Will you take photos with the rest of the family?
Absolutely, photos with parents and siblings are important and included.
The natural light in our house isn’t great, is that important?
No, I bring everything I need with me, including seriously amazing lights which will bring out the catchlights in your little ones eyes (and they’re roasting too so your baby will be nice and comfy in his/her nappy!)
How long will the shoot last?
The shoot is likely to last between 1 and 3 hours depending on the age of your little one and breaks for feeds and changes.
What’s the best age to photograph my baby?
If you want to capture that ‘new look’ then it’s best to arrange your newborn photography session for when your baby is between 5 and 14 days old. Don’t worry if your baby is older than this though, many parents prefer to have photos taken when their baby is more alert and likely to give us a smile.
My baby has spots, can you photoshop them out?
I believe that babies are perfect as they are and I won’t remove blemishes etc as standard. Please do get in touch if there is something in particular you would like to discuss.
Is there anything I need to organise beforehand?
For tiny babies it is a good idea to give your baby a feed shortly before the shoot is due to take place but of course it is totally normal to take breaks during the shoot if your baby needs a feed and a cuddle.
If there is anything in particular you would like included, a special blanket perhaps, just have it to hand and I’ll be happy to include it.
How far in advance do I need to book a shoot?
It’s always best to book as soon as possible but I do take last minute bookings too so just get in touch and we can chat about availability. Weekend sessions are limited so please get in touch as soon as you can if you need a weekend slot.
You include the digital photos? Hooray!
Yes! I believe that pricing should be completely transparent and up-selling doesn’t come naturally to me. I love sorting through and editing your images and providing you with images to look back on for a lifetime. You will be able to digitally download your photos in high resolution to share and print however you’d like.
When will I be able to see my online gallery?
Your photos will be ready to view and download within two weeks. You will receive an email with a link to an online gallery where you can download your high resolution (print ready) images. At no extra charge I can also include the low resolution photos for you to share on social media, as well as a free app to download to your phone!
What should we wear?
I recommend that parents wear plain black or white with bare arms if possible for a beautiful, natural and timeless look. I like to photograph babies in their nappies or birthday suit so no need to worry too much about (although I am happy to include photos in a special outfit if you have one).
How do I book?
Please email firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions or to make a booking. I’m looking forward to meeting you!
