Glasgow Conference Photographer – Converge

New clients Converge were looking for a Glasgow Conference Photographer to cover their Power of Ideas event and of course I was more than happy to oblige.

Converge works with Scottish universities to support entrepreneurs with all they need to grow and what an inspirational lot they are. This event brought together “visionaries, creative minds and relentless thinkers from near and far” – leading scientists, inventors and business owners who told stories about their own journeys which had the audience engaged, inspired and at times even moved to tears.

All of the speakers were excellent but a stand out moment for me was listening to Stuart Cassells, founder of The Red Hot Chilli Pipers, talking about learning to speak again after suffering a stroke at his son’s 2nd birthday party. He has had open heart surgery, completely changed his lifestyle and has reinvented himself as a fitness guru and manager of the Macallan Estate.

It was also fascinating to listen to Dame Dr Maggie Aderin-Pocock tell the story of her struggles as a dyslexic child, being told at every turn that her dreams weren’t possible but following them anyway. What an inspiration to ignore those naysayers and go for it anyway.

The Glasgow Royal Concert Hall made for a stunning location and I loved floating around capturing candid moments of the speakers and delegates – you can see some examples below.
