I absolutely loved working with Sarah and Peter (AKA Gillespie Handmade) on this project. Sarah and Peter make beautiful (and sturdy!) water kitchens for outdoor play and gorgeous book boxes too. We connected via the wonderful world of social media (thanks EGG!) and it was so lovely to meet in ‘real life’ for a shoot this month.
I started by taking a couple of portraits of Sarah and Peter – it’s so nice for customers to see who they are buying from and this adds a real sense of personality to a brand. We then went for some really natural behind the scenes shots of a water kitchen being completed – I think my absolute favourite is when Sarah and Peter’s daughter jumped into shot with her water pistol – the reality of the family/work life balance! It was then time for Emma to play with the finished product which is what it’s all about!
We then went inside to capture some shots of the book box. These are at the perfect height for little ones and are ideal for allowing them to select their own stories easily. They can be painted in any colour and the legs can be hairpin (in a selection of colours) or in light or dark wood. We finished with a team photo – what a lovely family!
The last impromptu photos weren’t really part of the shoot as such – they are of my own little one enjoying our new book box – I just love that happy wee face!
If you run your own business and are interested in a small business/personal branding shoot, then please don’t hesitate to get in touch. Each shoot is unique and tailored to you and the result is a bank of high quality images to use on your website and social media which really reflect who you are and what you do.
