Third Sector Event Photographer – Youth Scotland – Generation CashBack – Stirling
I was delighted to be invited by Youth Scotland to photograph this hugely successful Generation CashBack event.
Generation CashBack, delivered by Boys’ Brigade Scotland, Girlguiding Scotland, Scouts Scotland and Youth Scotland, works to grow community-based youth work in disadvantaged areas and in communities which are experiencing anti-social behaviour and crime. This valuable project helps young people to develop their confidence, resilience and skills and this particular event, Reach 5, was co-designed by young people – what a brilliant job they did!
The event was funded by the Scottish Goverment’s CashBack for Communities scheme, a programme which works to create safer communities by encouraging young people into positive activities. It was great to be there to see this in action.
After registration and an ice breaker, delegates listened to a speech from the Cabinet Secretary for Justice, Keith Brown. For the rest of the morning the young people attended a variety of engaging indoor workshops – there was a LOT going on and it was so much fun to capture it all!
Kevin Turner, Youth Scotland’s Communications Manager says:
‘Youth Scotland events tend to be a riot of colour, activity and experiences; from packed auditoriums to intimate personal shots – Anna captured the day perfectly. She was able to work closely within our brief and with the distraction of our comms team also at work. Our events can also carry the additional sensitivities that come with Child Protection and the presence of Government officials, something Anna has handled professionally and with ease on more than one occasion. Thanks for being a pleasure to work with!’
Kevin and his team were brilliant to work with and I hope the young co-organisers are feeling proud – what a great day. For now, here are a few images which capture a flavour of this cracking event.
